This article has as object of study nursing education in Portugal. Its purpose is to identify the themes in the discourse on the education of nurses. It presents the analysis of the thematic content from 41 articles selected from various sources. It also theorises the results using discourse analysis concepts. This was done with the purpose of revealing the discursive elements within the order of discourse on the education of nurses.
