COSTA, Renato Lopes da. Global management map: the Anglo-American, German, Japanese, and Chinese Models. Economia Global e Gestão [online]. 2012, vol.17, n.3, pp.53-76. ISSN 0873-7444.

The globalization of the current business market forces us to rethink the main field management theories, demanding more than ever a global mental map open to cultural diversity. The direct competitor once known and on the other side of the road, may now be thousands of kilometers away anywhere in the world. The present global map demands therefore learning, competence and, above all, knowledge. And not only practical and technical knowledge, but most of all a diversified knowledge on all other cultures and markets we’re made of. Whether they are strong, emergent or weak, because even the later ones can at a moment’s glimpse project themselves and absorb the available capital in the international business markets. This article as thus the goal of projecting the future and let know how the world is organized regarding the cultural way of doing management and think strategy. Thus, presenting a theoretical orientation allowing the managers to cultivate themselves, the academics and even the students, on how firms fight and survive on a world scale.
