This article intends to analyze the construction of "information and knowledge societies" within the process of structural change in contemporary societies. It documents the theoretical contributions that are most important in analyzing the process and defines the model for examining the basic dimensions of its political structuring. This work was carried out on the basis of program documents generally termed "Action Plans for the Information Society".
