This text sets out the main techniques for use in empirical research involving children that have been developed in the context of a research project in the field of childhood sociology. As the subject involves observables that possess highly distinctive characteristics, classic methodologies need to be adapted to new fieldwork situations. Conversation-interviews, illustrated and captioned texts and a written record of the empirical observations are presented as techniques for gathering information in the field that reflect this constant search for adaptation.
