The White Book of the European Union "Learn and teach: course to a cognitive society", focus mainly the evolution of the European societies and gives a special emphasis to different processes as learning, acquisition of abilities and knowledge, as important factors of adaptation to the globalization of the European economies and to technological and social changes. This vision is a result of a certain political orientation: The Long Life Learning. However this idea is not new, in this work we pretend to analyse the evolution of this concept in different perspectives, especially in the educational and business actual realities.
