Abstract
VILACA, Helena. Religion in the city: territories, materialities and communication. Sociologia [online]. 2017, n.tematico7, pp.12-27. ISSN 0872-3419. https://doi.org/10.21747/08723419/soctem2017a1.
The city was always understood as the territorial support of secularization. Only recently has sociology begun to pay attention to its analytical role in the study of religion. The city has housed and shaped different forms of culture and religious practices. In their space, the various mobilities intersect with everyday religious experiences and show how groups incorporate or reject modernity. This happens in Christianity itself and across its various branches, although it is particularly observable in evangelical Christianity
Keywords : religion; city; modernity.
