Abstract

RIBEIRO, Filipa M.. Funds of knowledge and egonetworks: translating a methodological-theoretical framework. Sociologia [online]. 2014, vol.28, pp.193-216. ISSN 0872-3419.

This paper is an interdisciplinary reflection on the relationship between social network analysis, namely egonetworks, and the funds of knowledge of researchers and teachers of higher education. It is argued that the creation of knowledge and its dissemination can be conceived as and through translation processes. These processes exist through and by means of the funds of knowledge, which can be measured and described, in its structure and content, through personal knowledge networks. Egonetworks can, thus, be defined as epistemic conduits
