Main character of the European Capital of Culture 2012, the Historic Centre of Guimarães, Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is the stage of a variety of social relations, modes of appropriation and interaction of its residents, workers and frequent visitors. Who are the social actors of the historic center and what are their features? How do they represent and relate to this place? What strengths and challenges will it face and what paths of future intervention can be traced? An exploratory foray into this public space illustrates the social construction of daily reality that the sociological perspective sought to unfold in the wanderings through the field
