Inhalation is currently the choice route for administration of drugs to treat respiratory diseases. The four types of inhalation therapy devices currently available are pressurized metered dose inhalers (with and without spacer device), dry powder inhalers, the soft mist inhalers, and nebulizers. A brief review of the factors that determine the pulmonary deposition of the aerosol and the four types of inhalers is performed. Provide important information for optimal selection of the inhaler for each patient and instructions for proper inhalation technique of each inhalation device, which must be performed and revised at each visit
