Abstract

BORTOLON, Elisandra Solange Oliveira; BORTOLON, Leandro; LEITE, Luiz Fernando Carvalho  and  LUCHIARI JUNIOR, Ariovaldo. New approaches, trends and opportunities of simulation models use to evaluate agricultural systems in tropical regions. Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2019, vol.42, n.4, pp.11-20. Agricultural systems modeling can contribute to define research programs in both tropical and subtropical regions (as Brazil), and it can accelerate research process and it can be an ancillary to decision making process, potentializing regional development as well reducing negative agricultural systems production impact on climate change. This study aims to present a review of the literature on this topic analyzing the major research challenges and opportunities in tropical regions related with the use of simulation models as tool to evaluate agricultural systems production.

Keywords : agricultural systems modeling; agroecosystems; tropics and subtropics.
