In the first stage, during 2017 e 2018, a sampling of agricultural products including fruits will be carried out to search for residues of plant protection products. At the same time, the quantification of their food intake will be quantified in the target population of the 2 municipalities of Terceira Island. If the levels of pesticide residues found in both the target population (blood and urine) and in the samples of agricultural products are above the MRL, the promotion and improvement of farming and food practices will be advanced. To this end, actions are planned in schools and in the population, to build an adequate food program and to promote healthy eating habits through a manual of good practices, aided by the creation of school gardens.
