Abstract

FARIA JUNIOR, Cleonir A. et al. Calibration of genetic coefficients and simulation of the productivity of porcorn of second crop season for Tangará da Serra, Brazil. Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2018, vol.41, n.2, pp.201-210. ISSN 0871-018X.  https://doi.org/10.19084/RCA17234.

Currently, many simulation models of growth and development have been used to simulate the behavior of several crops under different edaphoclimatic and management conditions. The State of Mato Grosso is considered the largest grain producer nationally, but it is still lacking in terms of research using simulation models. In view of the above, the objective of this work was to calibrate the genetic coefficients for popcorn corn and simulate the productivity in function of different sowing times. The calibration of the genetic coefficients and simulation of the growth, development and productivity of popcorn was performed by the CERES-Maize model, inserted in the Support System for Agrotechnology Transfer (DSSAT v.4.6). For this work, daily meteorological data of the Municipality of Tangará da Serra were used between 2004 and 2015 provided by the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). Simulations for popcorn were performed for six sowing dates (02/01, 02/10, 02/20, 03/01, 03/10 and 03/20). The average yields generated by the CERES-Maize model were decreasing as the sowing delay of the popcorn crop 4,928; 4,116; 2,868; 1,554; 1,074 and 985 kg ha-1 respectively occurred.

Keywords : Modeling; climate; sowing season.
