MOREIRA, Gabriela L. P. et al. Bromatological composition of cassava (Manihot esculenta) depending on the time of pruning. Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2017, vol.40, n.1, pp.144-153. ISSN 0871-018X.  https://doi.org/10.19084/RCA16022.

This work was carried out to evaluate the chemical composition of two cassava varieties subjected to five intervals of pruning. For this, a study was conducted at the State University of Southwest Bahia, Vitória da Conquista city, BA, using a randomized block design with 10 treatments, arranged in a factorial 2 x 5, with three replications, constituted of two cassava varieties (Caitité and Sergipe) and five pruning intervals (pruning every 2, 4, 6, and 8 months after planting and without pruning - witness). The crop was harvested at 19 months after plantation. The Caitité variety showed higher dry matter content and mineral matter of shoots. The roots of the variety Sergipe had higher fiber content and dry matter. It was observed for the two varieties reduction in dry matter content and shoot fibers and high levels of dry matter and protein in the roots for plants pruned every two months.
