Abstract

TORRES, Francisco E. et al. Influence of weed management and nitrogen in oil content in seven varieties of castor bean (Ricinus communis). Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2013, vol.36, n.3, pp.357-362. ISSN 0871-018X.

The objective of this research was to evaluate the influence of three culture conditions (CC) the oil content in seeds of seven cultivars of castor (C). The experiment was conducted at the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul, AquidaunaMS, in the years 2010/2011 and 2011/2012. The treatments were a combination of seven castor bean cultivars BRS Energy, IAC 2028, IAC-Guarani, Northeastern BRS, BRS Paraguassu, IAC-80 and IAC-226, submitted to three CC: with weed control (WWC) and without topdressing with nitrogen (N); without WWC and without topdressing with N, and with WWC and topdressing with 80 kg ha-1 N. The statistical design was a randomized block design in a factorial design with four replications, where we analyzed the interactions between MxCC. The CC evaluated did not influence the oil content, MxCC where the interaction was not significant. However BRS Northeastern, IAC-2028 and IAC-Guarani were greater during the two growing seasons.

Keywords : Nitrogen fertilization; bio fuel; weed control.
