In this study we have experiment the use of communication tools on-line in the teaching-learning process in formal graduation programs. On the academic year 2010/2011 in two universities (Porto and South Pacific) we substituted some face to face classes by on-line chat classes. At University of Porto we also have use the discussion forum at moodle to discuss student’s assessments. We conclude: (i) the chat is a didactic tool that can be use in b-learning at the University; (ii) the discussion forum on-line enhance the discussion of ideas and opinions; (iii) and at chat environment, students feel responsible for the class process, situation very different from face to face classes. This study gave, to teacher and students, a good experience in the use of on-line communication tools at the University.
