Abstract

AMARO, Pedro. The illegalities in plant protection are increasing in Portugal. Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2012, vol.35, n.2, pp.136-144. ISSN 0871-018X.

In Plant Protection, in Portugal, in the last 16 years, has occurred a great deal of illegalities, being the most important: CATPF not working during the last 6 years; to hide the most dangerous pesticides, specially the CMR, since 1995 and the officially designated of “high risk”; and to make difficult the development of integrated pest management. Among others illegalities are mentioned: no reference of risk phrases and safety precautions, in the Guides of AFN; insufficiencies of formation of pesticides users; and impunity of suppliers of pesticides publicity, with no reference to risk.

Keywords : CATPF; pesticide; publicity; risk.
