Abstract

MOTA, Miguel. The role of the Portuguese Society (SPME-BC) in the development of Electron Microscopy. Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2012, vol.35, n.1, pp.291-293. ISSN 0871-018X.

The Portuguese Society of Electron Microscopy was founded in 1966. The number of scientists using electron microscopes in Portugal was scarce, at the time. Thanks to the Annual Meetings and other activities of the Society, the number of electron microscopes and the production of scientific papers increased rapidly. The "Program and Abstracts" of the 40 years of the Society are a good demonstration of its importance.
