The burnout syndrome is a reaction to chronic stress experienced at work. It presents three dimensions: Emotional Exhaustion, Depersonalization and Professional Achievement. Values are categories of orientation considered desirable, based on human needs and the preconditions to satisfy them, can vary as to their magnitude and the elements defined. The research verified the relationship between the dimensions of burnout syndrome and human values of the teachers of the public schools of the city of João Pessoa - PB. Participated 220 teachers who responded to the scale of the Maslach Burnout Inventory - MBI (ED version), the Questionnaire of Human Values and Sociodemographic Data. Were performed descriptive statistics analysis, Pearson’s correlations and linear regression analyses. The subfunction Normative was that showed correlations with the dimensions of burnout, especially tradition and obedience are very important values to decrease interpersonal emotional detachment and for the relief of emotional exhaustion. There was the importance of promoting the central and personal values to the feeling of professional achievement.
