The present study describes the process of construction and psychometric study of a scale that measures elementary and high school student perceptions about their level of school identification. The questionnaire was administered to 1089 students attending the 6^th, 7^th, 9^th and 10^th grades in continental Portugal (median age=13 years). One random subsample was submitted to exploratory factor analysis (n₁=354); a second was submitted to a confirmatory factor analysis (n₁=388). Analyses yielded three dimensions: (a) Intrinsic Valuing, α=.74; (b) Practical Valuing, α=.74; and (c) Belonging and well-being, α=.78. The scales are useful and appropriate for evaluating students’ perceptions about their school identification.
