FREITAS, Vânia    MOTA, Catarina Pinheiro. Implicações da vinculação amorosa e suporte social na autoestima em jovens universitários. []. , 33, 3, pp.303-315. ISSN 0870-8231.  https://doi.org/10.14417/ap.863.

The study focuses on romantic attachment and perception of social support in young adult self-esteem development. The sample is composed by 334 young adults attending university, from both genders, 18 to 25 aged. The method used for data collection was quantitative analysis. The instruments used in this investigation, Social Support Appraisals, Romantic Attachment Questionnaire and Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale showed good psychometric properties. The results suggest a positive and negative correlation between main romantic attachment, social support and self-esteem variables. On the other hand, ambivalence and dependency (in romantic attachment) suggest a negative effect on self-esteem, rather than teacher support perception that has a positive effect on self-esteem. In addition, romantic attachment presents a moderating role in the association between social support perception and self-esteem.
