The Narrative Assessment of Adult Attachment Representations was used to assess the secure base script, testing its validity, and controlling for the first time with Portuguese samples, subjects verbal competence (VCI). Perceived Social Support was assessed using the Social Support Satisfaction Scale. The results show that mother Total secure base script was marginally correlated with their verbal competence. Only one dimension of social support - Social Activities was associated with the maternal secure script (after controlling for VCI).
