PEREIRA, Alice et al. Comunicação com o/a parceiro/a sexual acerca de preocupações preventivas, auto-eficácia contracetiva e (in)satisfação sexual. []. , 33, 2, pp.195-206. ISSN 0870-8231.  https://doi.org/10.14417/ap.949.

Sexual satisfaction has been related to communication with the partner and with contraceptive self-efficacy. This study aims to examine sex differences not only at sexual satisfaction, communication skills with a new sexual partner, and perception of contraceptive self-efficacy, but also the associations between these variables. The sample consisted of 537 college student (271 men and 267 women), aged between 18 and 25 years old and sexually active. Data were collected by Portuguese versions of Golombok Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction, Health Protective Sexual Communication Scale, e Contraceptive Self-Efficacy. Women have more communication skills with a new sexual partner and a higher contraceptive self-efficacy, though they are similar in sexual satisfaction level. Contraceptive self-efficacy is positively related to sexual satisfaction, however, this association in male participants is higher than in females. Contraceptive self-efficacy and communication skill with a new sexual partner are positively related, but just in women.
