This paper was carried out a review of the literature on the etiology, prevalence, diagnosis and treatment of sexual dysfunction in male homosexuals, highlighting the main weaknesses, challenges and gaps that cover this topic. The synthesis and integration of the main theoretical and empirical developments in the scientific literature, national and international stresses that studies addressing these issues are scarce and present results inconsistent and sometimes contradictory. The literature also reveals the lack of specific clinical criteria, a rehabilitation program or models of action for sexual dysfunction in the field of homosexuality because they focus on theoretical and practical heterosexual and denies the need for background and specificity of the homosexual population. Lastly, in order to promote the development of further research, we suggest further investigations.
