This paper presents the evaluation of the impact of a preventive action about violence in dating relationships, conducted in a secondary school context. This action was composed by three sessions, 90 minutes each one, and involved 578 students from 15 schools in the north of Portugal. All students filled, before and after the intervention, self-report questionnaires about their attitudes toward physical, psychological and sexual violence in dating relationships and about the conflict resolution strategies they use with their intimate partners. Results showed that the intervention reduced violent prone attitudes, but had no impact in the conflict resolution strategies used by the participants. These results can be due to the fact that the program had a brief duration and a more informative than behavioral orientation. The question of the differential impact of such programs by gender did not provide, in this study, conclusive results.
