Some of the key themes of phenomenological and existentialist philosophy referred by Irvin D. Yalom as the basics for his interpretation of the characteristics of existence are presented. Focusing on existential isolation, the confrontations with all those characteristics are thereafter described as well as the psychopathology that, in a comprehensive way, results from the obliquity of those confrontations, as well as the central axes of a phenomenological and existentialist psychotherapy.
