Abstract

BARREIROS, Luís Miguel  and  MARQUES, Maria Emília. Transformações psicomitológicas no Rorschach. Aná. Psicológica [online]. 2009, vol.27, n.3, pp.385-407. ISSN 0870-8231.

We try to reach the personal myths through the Rorschach response-process. To identify the personal myths in Rorschach we proposed a methodology based on a psycho-mythic grid underlying the narrative of the tested subject. Through a theoretical review which sought to establish the nature and essence of the myth as expressed in the lévi-straussian and psychoanalytic paradigm, we have made the epistemological assumptions underlying the construction of the Rorschach psycho-mythic grid identifying the personal myths in the psychic apparatus. The material used as a demonstration exercise consisted on a protocol taken from a Chabert’s (1998/2000) work about a man named Regis who was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. In applying the grid to the protocol the Rorschach test was seen as a semiotic process based on the transformations between personal myths. The dynamic of those transformations was demonstrated by the canonical formula of the psycho-myths (Lévi-Strauss, 1955/1970) and the concept of complementary series or etiology equation of the neurosis (Freud, 1916-17/1981) underlying the concepts of the psycho-myths grid. We concluded in the end with the identification of the prevailing personal myth presiding temporarily to the Regis’s mental apparatus at the time of the test. We finished with the concept of psycho-mythological transformations as a paradigm for analyzing the Rorschach.
