Abstract

AFONSO, José de Abreu. Masculino e feminino: Alguns aspectos da perspectiva psicanalítica . Aná. Psicológica [online]. 2007, vol.25, n.3, pp.331-342. ISSN 0870-8231.

In Classical Psychoanalytical Theory, feminine and masculine are only perceived after the active/passive and falic/castrated positions, which are the base of sexual identity. Nowadays we know that these aspects are only one part of its definition. The knowledge of the sexual differences is precocious and the vicissitudes of the pulsional life, occurring in relation enform the identity during the development process. The contemporary perspectives of feminine psychology emphasize the sexual identity and of gender, body image and self-representation, sexual response and emphaticall maternity. Some limitations in the Freudian vision are related with cultural aspects and the lack of data from children observations, as well as the absence object relations and ‘self’ perspectives. Those data and the development of the theory had also complexified the knowledge, about masculine sexuality, expanding the classic perspective.

Keywords : Sexual identity; psychoanalyse; masculine; feminine.
