The article proposes a reflection on distinct phenomena of the human experience: the dream and the hallucination. To start with, a brief discussion of the traditional comprehension of hallucination, so that it comes up with a succcinct exposition of Martin Heidegger’s thoughts not only of the dream but also of the hallucination. Furthermore, it brings the phenomenological understanding offered by one of the most important psychopathologists commited to this method. Last but not least, it exposes Sigmund Freud and Medard Boss’s ideas of the convergences and divergences found between dreams and visual hallucinations
