In order to study parental concerns in a group of parents with children conceived by in vitro fertilization we used a Parental Concerns Scale (Algarvio & Leal, 2002; Algarvio & Leal, 2004). The participants, selected from Infertility Consultation in Maternidade Dr. Alfredo da Costa, in Lisbon, were 19 parents with IVF children, with a range of age between 1 and 11 years old, 12 female and 7 male. The results pointed to a major concern in sub-scale I. Family and School Problems. We found significant statistical differences for: the person answering the questionnaire, social-economic level, pregnancy attempts, infertility cause and expecting time of IVF.
