This dissertation has for goal the understanding of the feelings and life-stile of adoptive mothers, evaluating the strategies that they found to copy with this particularly situation. We have made and analysed five semi-structure interviews, according to the Grounded Theory method, to adoptive mothers with ages between twenty-seven and forty years old, whose children have ages between three months and six years. Thereby it's demonstrated the emergency of five stages: the desire to have a child; the medical/hospital treatments; the desire to adopt; planning the child's arrival, and at last, the achievement of the desire to became a mother. The transition and connection of these phases were made by the undergoing of some points as, the perception of a problem (infertility), the failure of the medical treatments and the transition to an adoptive parenthood, the reunion with the technician and the going home of the new family.
