The objectives of the present research are: to study the metric properties of the Adolescent Attachment Questionnaire and the relationships between attachment and health behaviour. The adaptation process includes the inspection of the lexical, cultural, conceptual, operational, and measurement equivalence. A sample of 515 participants, both sexes (60.7% females), students at high-school level (9-12 levels), and ages between 14 and 20 years. We use the Adolescent Attachment Questionnaire, a 9 items questionnaire with three dimensions. We used also a questionnaire of health behaviour with 28 items distributed by 10 sub-scales. Results show that the Portuguese version of the questionnaire is similar to the English version. The results show that there are a statistically significant relationship between better health behaviours and better attachment. Health promotion programs must consider this variable.
