In this paper the authors analyze drug addiction phenomenon through the existential and phenomenological point o view. Considering that human existence is not a complete and finished fact, but a task which requires «care», drug addiction is conceived as an attempt to relief the necessary task of taking care of being. In order to comprehend this phenomenon, some fundamental aspects of human condition as temporality and existential openness are focus. Finally some considerations about psychotherapy are provided.
