O presente trabalho constitui a adaptação do EBIQ para uma população de controlo portuguesa (307 pares - sujeito/elemento da família), de modo a permitir a utilização deste instrumento em diversas situações decorrentes de lesão cerebral em sujeitos adultos.^len^aLife quality evaluation in people who have suffered brain damage has been insufficiently explored, namely as the result of the lack of adequate instruments, the difficulties of the subjects themselves in making self-evaluation, and the non-existence of control populations. The European Brain Injury Questionnaire (EBIQ Teasdale et al., 1997) was designed to provide a simple evaluation of the subjective experience of the brain-injured person and at the same time allowing a close relative to complete a parallel version concerning the patient. The present study intends to adapt the EBIQ to the Portuguese control population (307 pairs subject/close relative) to allow the use of this instrument in different conditions of brain injury in adult subjects.
