SANTOS, Maria Emília; SOUSA, Liliana de  and  CASTRO-CALDAS, Alexandre. Avaliação da experiência subjectiva em pessoas com lesão cerebral: adaptação para a população portuguesa do European Brain Injury Questionnaire (EBIQ). Aná. Psicológica [online]. 2001, vol.19, n.2, pp.219-236. ISSN 0870-8231.

Life quality evaluation in people who have suffered brain damage has been insufficiently explored, namely as the result of the lack of adequate instruments, the difficulties of the subjects themselves in making self-evaluation, and the non-existence of control populations. The European Brain Injury Questionnaire (EBIQ Teasdale et al., 1997) was designed to provide a simple evaluation of the subjective experience of the brain-injured person and at the same time allowing a close relative to complete a parallel version concerning the patient. The present study intends to adapt the EBIQ to the Portuguese control population (307 pairs subject/close relative) to allow the use of this instrument in different conditions of brain injury in adult subjects.

Keywords : Brain injury; quality of life; assessment.
