The purpose of this paper is to describe the psychometric characteristics of the «Características Psicológicas Relacionadas con el Rendimiento Deportivo» (Psychological Characteristics Related to Sport Performace) questionnaire (CPRD). The factorial structure of this instrument shows five scales including a total number of 55 items. The scales are: Stress Control, Influence of Performance Evaluation, Motivation, Mental Skills and Team Cohesion. The process followed to develop the questionnaire, and the coeficient of internal consistency (Cronbach alfa 0,85) suggest that this instrument is a useful tool for the sport psychologist within the context of psychological assessment, providing relevant information about the needs and the resources of the athletes, to establish hypotheses, to develop a functional analysis, to make decisions about the intervention, and to observe the progress at follow-ups.
