The 'Análise Psicológica' journal is the first and oldest university specialized review in psychology in Portugal, edited by Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada (ISPA). In this study, a bibliometric analysis of the 'Análise Psicológica' (1987-1996), concerning the health psychology subject is presented. Papers: in the period examined, 80 in a total of 490 articles distributed into 33 issues, classified in were the field of health psychology. The average number articles/issue was 14,8. Collaboration and Productivity of authors: Total signatures of authors were 84, the average number of articles/authors: 0,95. The 13 most productive authors (68,75%) (with three or more articles between 1987-1996) belong to the university world, with José A. Carvalho Teixeira showing the highest productivity index. Thematic categories: Among the 19 categories considered, a balance between basic and clinical articles can be observed, with a marked predominance of methodology studies, psychological aspects of pregnancy, counselling and prevention and treatment of illness.
