This paper is part of a longer research from the Grupo Português para o Estudo da Qualidade de Vida. The main objective of this paper is to discuss questions about how to built a questionnaire to evaluate Quality of Life in children until 11 years of age having insulino-dependent diabetes. This type of diabetes reach, mainly, young people. We adopt and justify a questionnaire tailored to avaluate mothers´ perception of the Quality of Life of their children having insulinodependent diabetes, but we admit that it is possible to built questionnaires tailored directly to the children´s perception of their own Quality of Life.
