Log linear models are becoming increasingly relevant in psychology research. These models enable us to analyze qualitative data originated from both experimental (with complex factorial designs) or correlational research. In this article we present the log-li-near approach applying it to data from a deductive thinking study. We compared this approach with the frequently used models associated with bi-variate contingency tables (independence and homogeneity models).
