Abstract

EUGENIO, Fernando C.; SANTOS, Alexandre R.; DALFI, Raphael L.  and  MOREIRA, Taís R.. Deforestation's influence on hydric availability of Rive's basin, Alegre, ES, Brazil. Silva Lus. [online]. 2013, vol.21, n.2, pp.205-218. ISSN 0870-6352.

Among the twelve river basins or regions that compose the state of Espírito Santo, the Itapemirim river basin stands out for its extreme social, economic and environmental importance, characterized by a significant vegetative cover of the Atlantic Forest biome, especially in part of Caparaó National Park which covers much of the 17 cities that compose it, among which the city of Lajinha located in Minas Gerais. The present study evaluated the influence of deforestation on hydric availability, delimited to a sub-basin from a registration point inside the flow of the Itapemirim river basin, ES, Brazil, to infer about the relationship that exists between hydric availability and deforestation. With the completion of the study we could infer that there was a reduction of approximately 28.79% in the area occupied by forest fragments between 1987 and 2007 and there is a tendency to increase the flow in the Itapemirim river registration point of the Rive district.

Keywords : watershed; modeling; forest fragmentation and geotechnology.
