This article aims to study the textual argumentative sequences in the genre ‘reader comments discourse', published daily in the newspaper Folha de São Paulo in the Letters addressed to the Editor section. We base our analysis on the theoretical aspects of Textual Analysis of Discourses (TAD), in particular, studies by Jean-Michel Adam about argumentative sequences in view of the dialogic principle. We intend to consider within this principle not only the textual plan for each selected sample, but, especially the situation of communication that the journalistic instance render available, in the newspaper via, three comments from readers on the sameis topic. We believe that this strategy has the purpose to establish a broader debate regardings the issue of partisan polarization and division of the country as a consequence, of the political scene established.
