Portugaliae Electrochimica Acta (Port. Electrochim. Acta) is a journal published by the Portuguese Electrochemical Society since 1983. Portugaliae Electrochimica Acta publishes original papers, brief communications, reviews and letters concerned with every aspects of theory and practice of electrochemistry, as well as articles in which topics on history, science policy, education, etc. in the electrochemical field (teaching or researching) may be discussed. Its scope includes: Bioelectrochemistry, Corrosion, Electrodeposition and Surface Treatment, Electroanalysis, Interfacial Processes, Molecular Electrochemistry, Physical Chemistry of the Ionic Conductor Media, Photoelectrochemistry, Spectroelectrochemistry, Electrocatalysis, Non-Conventional Electrochemistry, Computer Based Electrochemical Methods, and any other field of recognised significance in Electrochemistry International scientific standards have been implemented for Portugaliae Electrochimica Acta with an international editorial board. It considers for publication original papers or reviews, written preferably in English, but also in Portuguese, French or Spanish. It is abstracted in the Chemical Abstracts. There are permutation agreements with journals of other institutions.
