- A letter to the Editor of the Revista Nutrícias requesting the publication of the article (please

A statement of the originality of the topics / studies presented (please find an example at www.apn.org.pt);
Original Articles
- Articles resulting from scientific and original studies, has not been previously published
- Full papers will normally present no more than 10 pages (including the text, references, figures and tables and excluding the title page). The articles must be written in Arial font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing, normal margins, and with the indication of the line number in the lateral margin.
The original research article must present the following structure:
Title page and institutions
- 1st Title; 2nd Author(s); 3rd Address and contacts of the correspondence author;
Text
- 4th Abstract; 5th Keywords; 6th Introduction; 7th Aim (s); 8th Materials and Methods; 9th Results; 10th Discussion; 11th Conclusions;
- 12th Acknowledgments (optional); 13th References; 14th Figure, tables and respective legends.
- The text should start with a structured abstract not exceeding 300 words: Background; Material and Methods, Results, Conclusions. It must be presented in english and portuguese.
- The reference of figures and tables should be indicated throughout the text in Arabic numbers in parentheses.
These illustrations should be placed after the bibliographic references, on separate pages, and the order in which they should be inserted must be the same in which they are referenced throughout the text. The titles of the tables should be placed above them and referred with Arabic numbers (example: Table
1). The legend should appear under each figure and referred with Arabic numbers (example: Figure 1).
Graphics and legends should be written in Arial font, size not less than 8.
Communications, technical reports, letters, review articles
- Review articles about food and nutrition
- Articles of professional nature that include articles that address one approach or opinion on a particular subject, technique, methodology or activity carried out within the professional practice of Nutritionists.
Review articles: Full papers will normally present no more than 12 pages (including the text, references, figures and tables and excluding the title page). The articles must be written in Arial font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing, normal margins, and with the indication of the line number in the lateral margin. If the article is a systematic review it should follow the requirements specified above for the original articles. If the article has no systematic character it must be structured according to the following order:

- 4th Abstract; 5th Keywords; 6th Main text; 7th Critical Analysis; 8th Conclusions;

Recensions: Full papers will normally present no more than 3000 words (excluding page title). The articles must be written in Arial font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing, normal margins, and with the indication of the line number in the lateral margin. This category includes the articles that represent a critical review of a book on a topic area of Nutrition and Food Sciences.
Recensions must present the following structure: Title page and institutions
- 1st Title; 2nd Author(s); 3rd Address and contacts of the correspondence author; 4th Identification of the objective of the recension (author(s), title, translator (if any), publisher, edition, place, date of publication, ISBN and type of book) Text
- 5th Abstract; 6th Keywords;
- 7th Main text; This section should include a description of the subject of the book, its objectives, explaining the fundamental lines and the most relevant positions and arguments of the authors of the book.
- 8th Critical Analysis The critical analysis should be substantiated based on references and citations, the process of preparation and content of the fundamental lines of the book. The agreement and disagreement of the authors and their justification should be referred.
- 9th Conclusions They should refer the major contribution of the book to the knowledge of Nutrition and Food Sciences.
10th Acknowledgments (optional); 11th References
